Dr. Ken Hester
Ken Hester has served as Senior Pastor at FBC since 2000. After he earned his Agriculture degree at Mississippi State, he went on to earn his Masters of Divinity with Biblical Languages at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas and his Doctor of Ministry degree at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. After years of youth ministry, Bro. Ken is now in his second church as pastor. Bro. Ken and his wife, Temple, have a daughter who is currently a college student. After his family and church, Bro. Ken enjoys all kinds of sports and drilling fresh-water wells in needed areas.
Evangelism and Discipleship Pastor
Dr. Lewis Harrell
Lewis has served at FBC since 2001. A native of Jackson, MS he graduated from Mississippi College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Tami, have been married 29 years. They have three children. Hannah, and her husband Nick, serve as teachers in Karen, Kenya. Daniel is a junior at Mississippi State and Benn is a junior at Pontotoc High School. Lewis is serving at his third church since 1990. For his hobbies, Lewis enjoys yard work, wood work, and fishing.
Minister to Senior Adults
Bro. Mickey has served FBC for 26 years as Minister of Music (2016 retired) and Minister of Senior Adults. For over 40 years, he has led Churches in Louisiana and Mississippi. Bro. Mickey is a past president of the Mississippi Singing Churchmen. He and Sylvia have two adult children, Heather and Stephen, and three grandchildren.
Minister to Students
Justin Cobb has served as Student Pastor at FBC since April 2014. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Mississippi College in 2007 and his Masters of Divinity in 2016. Justin has been working full time in Student Ministry since 2008. He looks forward to many years to come at First Baptist Church of Pontotoc. Justin and Melissa married in 2008 and have one child, Hayden.
Minister to Children
Danielle Hathcock has served as the Children’s Minister at FBC since August 2018. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministry from Blue Mountain College in 2015 and will graduate with her Master’s of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in December 2018. Having had the opportunity to lead children and/or teen ministries since 2012, Danielle eagerly looks forward to the exciting plans God has in store for the children’s ministry at First Baptist Church in the years to come!
Minister of Music
Nathan Young leads the First Day service on Sunday mornings and the Student Worship team on Wednesday evenings.
Chess Anthony has been on staff at First Baptist Church since 2010. Not only does she work at FBC but Chess also helps in 3rd grade Sunday School and R.A.s as well as being active on the Children's Committee and Youth Committee. After graduating from Indianola Academy in 1997, Chess attended Delta State University. Chess is married to Chad Anthony and they have four children, Sheffield, Rhodes, Hutton and Greenlee Anthony. When she is not working, Chess enjoys watching her children play sports.
Randy Moss has served as Superintendent at FBC Pontotoc since 1994. He graduated from South Pontotoc in 1982. Randy oversees the facilities throughout the church on a weekly basis. He enjoys hunting and fishing every chance he gets. Randy has been married to Dawn Moss for 32 years. Dawn and Randy have one son, Justin Moss.
